Welcome to the British-Irish Parliamentary Reporting Association - an organisation dedicated to attaining
and maintaining the highest standards of parliamentary reporting throughout the British Isles and Eire.

The official record is a hugely important source of accurate and unbiased information. It can be used by anyone who wants to know exactly what went on in a legislature, such as how a particular Member voted on an issue and what he or she said on a particular matter. Equally, it allows politicians, lawyers and the media to determine the exact intention of legislation.

Just as importantly, the official record provides a record for posterity. It offers a day-to-day account of proceedings, reflecting attitudes to the significant issues of the day and the changing values and views of society. In short, it will help future generations to paint a picture of how we live today.
